Pakistan is a Contracting State to the 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Return proceedings concern habitual residence, rights of custody, wrongful removal or retention and the Convention’s limited exceptions; they are distinct from a final determination of custody merits.
